Web Services and XML Versioning
11:00 a.m.

This talk will go into the details of what can and can't be done to enable extensibility and versioning of XML Schemas, documents and Web services. A detailed analysis of the versioning mechanisms in Schema, and the pros and cons of different versioning techniques is provided. The focus is to enable Web service and Schema authors to write interfaces and schemas that can versioned in a compatible manner without requiring both sides to change at the same time, and hence achieve loose coupling between software components.  This material is an extension of the presenter's work on the W3C Technical Architecture Group, and also includes WSDL 2.0 material.
