In
this session you will learn the techniques that can be used to increase the
responsiveness of user interface and network operations for users of
applications built on the .NET Compact Framework.
First we'll be looking
under the covers at advances and changes in the "Whidbey" release to
significantly improve performance. You'll receive a general overview of how the
.NET Compact Framework works under the hood at runtime, with specific focus on
performance implications. Next, we will cover:
- general user interface tips to increase performance
- how asynchronous infrastructure, such as threading, in the .NET Compact
Framework can be leveraged to optimize both User Interface and network
operations.
- the architectural guidelines for creating applications that perform well
under frequently changing network conditions.
